PT Sele Raya Belida Successfully Brings SAS-2 Well Onstream at 1,500 BOPD
The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) announced the accelerated production of the Sungai Anggur Selatan-2 (SAS-2) exploration well, operated by PT Sele Raya Belida.
The SAS-2 well officially began production (onstream) on November 28, 2025, three days ahead of its initial target date of December 1, 2025.
Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto, reported that the well is currently producing at a stable rate of 1,500 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 1.5 MMSCFD of gas.
Although production tests indicated a potential output of up to 4,000 BOPD, SKK Migas decided to maintain production at an optimal level of 1,500 BOPD to ensure long-term sustainability.
“This production level is set to prevent risks such as water coning and blockage in perforation zones, ensuring longer well life,” said Djoko Siswanto.
The accelerated onstream achievement was supported by high efficiency in permitting and facility development. Key acceleration factors include:
- Fast-tracked Exploration Completion Approval (PSE)
- Accelerated construction of production facilities
- UKL-UPL approval completed within two weeks
- Plan of Development (POD) Phase I approval completed within two weeks
These efficiencies enabled faster monetization of the well, allowing it to contribute immediately to the overall production of the SAS Field.
Looking ahead, the development of the SAS Field will focus on the Synrift Play concept derived from the Talang Akar Formation, as part of ongoing efforts to unlock additional reserves.
SKK Migas also plans further drilling activities in 2026 and remains optimistic that the SAS Field will continue to contribute significantly to achieving national oil and gas production targets.
